An Enjoyable, Userfriendly Educational Software
“MathMovesU” is an interactive game that is user friendly and uses the childs age and perceived interst to excite learners about math. The educator Piaget strongly believes in the constructivist theory of learning. He claims children should be allowed to construct their own understanding of the world and explore ways of solving problems.
In this interactive game exciting pictures related to the learners age are displayed, while they find ways of solving math problems. This causes learners to develop cognitively while enjoying the fast pace music, animation and depictions of diverse backgrounds. Each screen features a splash of colour and the player is allowed to chooses his character.
MathMovesU can be related to a behaviourist view as the educator Skinner claims children can be conditioned to like or dislike math based on how the stimulus is presented. With this approach to learning math the child's mind can be conditioned to enjoy practice and drill math software with the goal of reaching the next level experiencing new colourful displays and environments.
There are three levels: grade 6 and below, grade7 and grade 8+. Each player chooses a character and customises it before beginning the journey of games, facts and quizes. Your player walks through scenery and encounters math problems that appear in boxes above the character's head. Points are earned for correct answers.
This software motivates learners of middle childhood as they are curious about the environment in which they live. "MathMovesU" increaces their interest in math by creating a connection between math and their virtual world.
